We welcome you to join us!
Our community gets together in the Spring, Summer, and Fall to connect with the ocean and surf. In the winter we rest and prepare for the next season.
Salted Roots is a community space that centers the voices and experiences of girls, women, and gender-expansive People of Color. For beginners, we introduce you gently to all elements of surfing – from wetsuits, to board safety, to learning how to be in the ocean. Those who have surfed before can continue to work on their skills and enjoy the great community vibe. All equipment is provided + carpool from Oakland available.

Making Surfing Accessible to All
We acknowledge that financial barriers to surfing and accessing the coast impact our community. Salted Roots is committed to making surfing accessible to everyone so all our programs are offered on a sliding scale.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Please contact info@saltedrootssurf.org if you would like to discuss how Salted Roots can support you in joining us at a program.
The costs to us as an organization for running our deeply intentional, covid safe, and community-focused surf programs is over $400 per individual per session. We ask that anyone who can contribute at the top of the sliding scale range, do so, so that we can continue to make surfing accessible to all.
